Artist Profiles
Last updated on July 14, 2026
- Find in:
Contacts→ArtistsorContacts→ any contact →ArtistTab - Requirement: The contact must have the
Artistrole assigned to see this tab. - Real-World Example: You represent a painter named Sarah. In her standard Contact profile, you store her phone number and home address. In her new Artist tab, you manage her sales commissions, track her inventory, and update her biography.
Every artist is a contact in your database, but not every contact is an artist. By simply adding the Artist role to a contact's profile. Once the Artist tab is activated, you can view a complete list of every artwork in your inventory created by them, making it easy to see what is available, sold, or currently on consignment.
Managing Commission Deals
Tracking who gets paid what can be a headache, but yatelier simplifies it with Commission Deals.
• You can create deals that are "ongoing" (e.g., a standard 50/50 gallery split) or set them for a specific date range (e.g., a special 60/40 split just for a summer exhibition).
• You can assign a specific commission deal directly to an individual artwork, or simply choose the correct deal from a dropdown menu when you are generating an invoice. yatelier will handle the math automatically on the final split sheet.
The Global Artist Registry
If after creating a new Artist the profile can be connected with a Public Profile from yatelier Global Artists Registry, it means, yatelier has already a biography, birth date and some other details about this Artist in the database. Before spending hours on manually typing out a new artist's biography, click to connect them and let yatelier auto-fill the details (like Social Media profiles) in seconds!
